WEATHER:
The weather of the Sierra Madre Oriental, presents a very complex distribution, the differences in the temperature itself due to the mountainous chain, producing an effect of condensation; generates rains that concentrate on the side this of the saw, while the western side develops a called phenomenon “Orographical Shadow”, giving rise to plains with dry weather or almost dry, (INEGI of 1996).

According to data obtained of the weather station of the city of Monterrey, the Ecological Park Chipinque is located in a type of climate almost dry with rains marked in summer and with a percentage of winter rain of 5 al 10% of the annual total.

Temperature:
In the Ecological Park Chipinque temperatures are presented annual average that vary from 18 to 22— C with a thermal oscillation from 14 to 16 — C during the months of May and June, with a maximum one between 25 and 26 °C in the month July and its low is presented in January from 15 to 19°C. With relation to the temperature that is presented daily in the metropolitan area of Monterrey, in the Park a differential from 2 to 4 is presented° C less in the area of the Center of Attention al Visiting and The Plateau respectively. In the winter season extreme temperatures are presented that oscillate from 0 to 4° C the lowest and in the season of summer extreme temperatures from 22 to 35 are presented° C the highest.

Haste annual average:
The annual average haste oscillates between the 300 and 500 mm. in the months from May to July, in the months of December and January with an average haste that varies among the 5 to 10 mm. The relative humidity between the 30 and 50%, the number of appreciable rain oscillates between the 30 and 59 mm with a greater incident in the month of September with a rank of 80 and 90 mm.

Dominant winds:
The dominant winds stem from the northeast and southeastern and they are presented from January to July; from August to September they change the course of dominance stemming from the southeast and of the east in response to the activity ciclónica that cause important rains in summer.

Intemperismos extreme:
The frequency of frosts (temperatures less than 0°C) in the region they are from 0 to 20 days al year, in the referring thing to the frequency of hailstorms for this same area they are reported between 0 and 2 annual days (INEGI, 1996) and although not frequent, they are not rare the snow-covered.

GEOGRAPHY:
The area of the Park Ecological Chipinque limits al South with the divide of the solid mountainous one of the Saw Oriental Mother, al North with the division “Joyas del Venado”, al This with the lands of the division ”Renacimiento” and to Western with the division “Olinala”.

The Park Ecological Chipinque has an extension of 1,625 hectares located in its greater part in the municipality of San Pedro Heron Garcia (1,011.97 hectáres), while a smaller proportion the municipality of Monterrey (613.03 hectares).

ALTITUDES:
To have a reference with respect to the altitudes that are presented in the Park, there would be that to compare it with the altitude in the metropolitan area of Monterrey that is of approximately 500 meters above sea level (msnm), thus, in the different points and spots of the Park have the following heights:
